Aaliyah is mentioned in 2 news articles today...one good mention ( ), one bad ( ). First, the bad one (so we can get it over with). Aaliyah is mentioned in an article about the MTV VMAs. Her video is placed in the category of WORST nominations (there are about 5 worst and 5 best). It says: "Tupac’s “Thugz Mansion” and Aaliyah’s “Miss You.” You’re both dead; how can you still make videos? The wonders of modern science, I suppose." www.news-press.com/news/lifestyle/030826commentary.html Now, the good one. This article is about memorial t-shirts. Aaliyah is mentioned as follows: "In other cases, memorial tees are explicitly intended to create a sense of solidarity among wearers, such as the "We are Columbine" tees that Columbine High School students wore when they returned to classes or those worn following the sudden death of pop singer Aaliyah, uniting strangers in grief in much the same way fans bond during a sporting event."
